Seoul Accord Meeting, Cambridge, UK
Prof Stephen MacDonell and Murray Wills attended the 2018 Seoul Accord Annual Meeting in Cambridge, UK from 22-24 June on behalf of ITPNZ. Signatories to the Seoul Accord agreement recognise each other’s degree programmes, which have been accredited under strict criteria contained within this important international agreement. ITPNZ has accredited eight institutions so far under the agreement. From April 2017, the New Zealand Government through Immigration New Zealand (INZ) began formally recognising Seoul Accord accredited degree programmes (specifically) as automatically meeting the skill evidence requirements for skills-based work visas into New Zealand.
Each year member countries discuss the development of accreditation requirements, changes to the Accord and accreditation agreements, quality review outcomes, changes to the agreement and practical aspects related to the Accord itself, and implementation within each country. This year Malaysia and Sri Lanka attended as observers.
